Having spent the early part of the day at RAF Woodvale with Flt Lt Russ Norman and the Chinook Display Team , I was furnished with a pass for the pier for the airshow itself, a handful of miles further up the coast.
Gothenburg-Save, Sweden
Unlike the previous day we were well prepared for an earlyish start and hit the airfield perimeter before the airshow traffic had been allowed to build-up. We spoke to one of the guys dishing out the press passes and explained our situation the previous day. In his words the traffic situation had been a 'disaster', with delays of more than two hours for those arriving from the north.

A two day trip to Gothenburg featuring my son, Sammy's first flight on a plane was planned to coincide with the Gothenburg-Save airshow that, at the time of booking, was set to include a Draken in the flying display.
Sywell
As with its forerunners, Sywell's biennial airshow is all about raising funds for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. In an almost identical start to the aerodrome's most recent show in 2006, Sunday the 24th of August 2008 started off wet, but again, as in 2006 the clouds parted and the sun shone until the middle of the afternoon.
Dawlish Carnival Airshow
The picturesque south Devonshire coastal town of Dawlish has played host to a cracking little seaside airshow each year since 2004. The 2008 iteration was unquestionably the biggest and best to date.
