Driving
back to our hotel last night
we could help but feel that
we'd somehow missed a trick
by not shooting the items
in AMARG down East Escalante
Rd, which, unlike the ones
we were shooting then didn't
have a big bank of earth in
front of them!
I
therefore suggested that as
we wouldn't have any further
opportunities to shoot sunsets
there (on account of flying
home that evening) we might
consider a sunrise shoot instead!
Glenn and Shiggie agreed and
so at 0645 we left our hotel
and departed for the spot
in question. It was still
too dark when we arrived so
we sat it out for a few minutes,
before Shiggie woke all of
the locals up with the car
alarm...
I
think it was well worth the
effort personally.

We
headed off for breakfast with
the intention of sitting in
our 'usual' spot at DM, but
knowing that because of the
runway switch we'd be shooting
departures rather than landers.
When
we got back to the spot though,
it was all too apparent that
the sun wasn't going to be
coming good for us until around
the time we'd need to start
our journey back to Phoenix,
so I suggested doing the AMARG
bus tour again - this time
from the other side of the
bus, and again this was greeted
with full approval from my
fellow travellers.
I'm
really glad we did because
as Glenn and I discovered,
the right side of the bus
is by far the better of the
two!!

So
far as we were all concerned
that was a $7 well spent.
With
just under an hour left before
we needed to get on the road
we did return to our usual
haunt, and to be honest, I
almost wish we'd not...
