Having
had such a good day the previous
day and with a near perfect
forecast, we decided we had
to make the most of conditions
and were in place at the location
on the other side of the runway
for 0730.
Compared
to the previous afternoon,
activity was fairly sparse,
and it wasn't until later
in the day that we realised
we'd missed a trick by not
walking along the perimeter
to get closer to the rotation
point.

By
now it was about 1100 and
we were rapidly finding ourselves
struggling with the now down
the runway position of the
sun, so we elected to head
off to Lake Hood for a scout
around and also to visit the
resident aviation museum.
A sign in the museum insisted
that no pictures taken could
be posted on the web without
written approval, so guess
what I won't be sharing with
you all! :-)
Once
we were done there we headed
back to our location from
the previous afternoon.

Things
were still comparatively quiet
and with a Lynden Air Cargo
Lockheed L100 (the civillian
version of the Hercules) on
their ramp, we decided this
would be as good a chance
as any to pay them a visit.
With
their six aircraft fleet,
Lynden specialise in the worldwide
transportation of oversized
cargo.

A
flying visit back to the mound
before dinner, and after it
we went Beaver hunting at
Lake Hood.
Finally,
back to where we should've
started the morning off to
see what the opportunities
were like for sunset shots.
Sadly we only got to see one
movement before the sun had
gone.
Another
excellent day which had seen
us shooting for somewhere
in the region of 14 hours,
excluding meal breaks. I just
love this place!
