Fairbanks,
AK, USA - 16/04/2008
When
John Gott, the Public Affairs
guy at Eielson AFB confirmed
that we could have a second
crack at doing the Red Flag
Alaska tanker ride (the first
having been weather scrubbed),
it was a no brainer.
We
flew back up to Fairbanks
from Anchorage early in the
morning on the day of our
proposed ride. With the morning
to kill we hung around the
perimeter at Fairbanks and
were treated to a couple of
very welcome bonuses - a Brooks
DC-4, the NASA DC-8 and an
Everts Air Fuel DC-6.

While
driving round the perimeter
we'd noted that the C-46 on
the ramp was a different one.
This time it was C-46F "Salmon
Ella", and our now good
friend Rink at Everts was
only to happy to take us out
on the ramp to shoot her.
And
with that it was time to head
down to Eielson for our ride.
