Husbands Bosworth - 06/01/2008

Well, I had rather hoped to get out somewhere during the week to give the 40D an airing, but as we all know the weather has been far from ideal!

I had to pick my dad up from the scrapyard this morning, and given that the sun was shining I suggested we carried on to Husbands Bosworth for an hour.

There wasn't much in the way of variety, but there was plenty of activity.

Initial thoughts on the 40D; LCD is 10x better than on the 30D and gives a pretty accurate representation of the image captured; The self-cleaning sensor on mine is filthy!; It's very quick; AF seemed much more robust on centre point than on multi-point; Images seem nice, contrasty and well saturated.

All in all a fairly pleasing debut. Suspect it'll take a while before I learn to take advantage of the custom functions and settings, but I certainly feel happier with it than I ever did with the 30D.
