RAF
Lossiemouth - 02/05/2007
With
Lossiemouth hosting the F-4Fs
of JG-71 "Richthofen"
for the latest Neptune Warrior
Exercise, this was the perfect
excuse to return to this beautiful
part of Scotland.
Unfortunately
the conditions for the vast
majority of the day were heavily
overcast, but that didn't
mean it was impossible to
get some nice Phantom shots.
The
morning was spent at the threshold
at the golf course end.

Shortly
after the last morning recoveries
the runways were switched,
so we headed to the other
end. This provided some great
taxi shots of the afternoon
wave!

And
then, typically, with the
Phantoms having flown the
second of their two missions
of the day the clouds began
to part... If nothing else
it did mean we got some nice
light for the visiting 43
Sqn "Fighting Cocks"
Tornado F3, and the early-evening
based movements, including
a couple off to drive Paveways
on to the rock at Cape Wrath.

By
the standard of my previous
Lossie visits, it had been
a quiet day, but there had
still been some nice photos
to be had.
