London-Luton - 4th October 2007

With the promise of a nice forecast I decided I'd have an early start and try to get to Luton for 0730ish. Didn't quite go to plan, and it took me 95 minutes to complete the 39 mile journey! Hey ho!

Started off in my usual spot, but with the weather the way it was I thought I'd move further down the runway and try to get some rotation and banking shots.

First thing I realised was just how deceiving the distance the aircraft are away when they bank left is! Too far! Second thing I realised was that there was potential for some other 'different' Luton shots.

Conditions were amazing for nearly the whole day, but with it came heat haze, so apologies for the lack of motion blur in the later in the day shots. I resorted to 1/800th to try to kill it, but as the wavy cheatlines will testify, all I succeeded in doing was freezing it.

That'll be a truly cracking spot when the temperatures drop a bit and the heat haze dies off.

I look forward to it!
