RAF
Marham - 11th June 2008
With
RAF Marham scheduled to provide
16 Tornado GR4s for the Queen's
Birthday Flypast, plus airspares,
it seemed like the perfect
opportunity to head back over
there for the mid-week practice.
With
the flypast due through the
Marham overhead at 1250, the
jets began departing just
before 1200. I'd taken a chance
on the hill at the 06 approach
end (they were departing on
24), but sadly this was a
decision which provided very
few opportunities.

Unfortunately
circumstances conspired such
that it wasn't possible to
get any shots of the flypast
(we were being ejected from
a field as it passed overhead!),
but we did manage to find
a great location to shoot
some of the aircraft returning
to the eastern HAS site.

To
add insult to injury, the
anticipated Louisiana ANG
F-15 deployment that was to
pass through Lakenheath that
evening slipped 24hrs too...
Just one of those days, I
guess...!
