Middle Wallop - 13th December 2005

Having spent the morning at Yeovilton and having rapidly lost interest at Boscombe, Geoff and myself stopped off at Middle Wallop.

We pulled up in the car park of the Museum of Army Flying just as one of the Islanders was heading back to the ramp. Good timing for once!

We decided we'd take a drive around the airfield to see what other locations were on offer. The best we could come up with was a fairly distant spot of helicopters recovering to various areas of the field. The sky really leant itself to that sort of shot, however, and these are quite different to any rotary shots I'd captured before.

Just as the sun was disappearing we 'met' one of the local farmers, who, rather than asking us to leave tried his best to convince us that we could be getting ourselves into quite a bit of bother, as apparently it's illegal to take pictures of Apaches..! :-)

An entertaining end to an entertaining day.
