Deutsches
Museum Flugwerft Schleißheim,
Germany - 8th July 2008
Having
spent the morning at Landsberg-Penzing
for their Ex ELITE 2008 press
day, we headed to Munich for
the afternoon.
Thanks
to Mr Sat Nav we tracked down
(and it was no mean feat!)
this superb museum
at Oberschleissheim.

One
of the most interesting items
present was this CASA built
Heinkel 111, undergoing restoration.
Everything going onto it was
absolutely pristine, however
the museum website suggests
the restoration is, sadly,
for display only.

Other
gems included pre-production
examples of the EF2000 and
the EADS/Boeing X-31.

Another
fascinating exhibit is the
Do31, an eight-engined VTOL
transport aircraft! The project
was pulled just over 3 years
after the first flight after
the true cost of developing
such technology became apparent.

A
fascinating collection and
cracking value for the €5
it cost to get in. Well worth
a visit.
