Karl was present at DCAE Cosford for the spectacular delivery of an ex-USAF MH-53M, donated to the RAF Museum and flown in in a 99 Sqn C-17A - the largest aircraft ever to operate from the airfield.

In addition to Sywell's press preview for this Sunday's airshow, yesterday also saw Little Gransden host their own.
With the 2007 event having raised £17,175 for Children in Need, it is hoped that the 2008 instance will see that figure increase further.

The Friday (and indeed final) morning of our Germany trip was spent back at Heuberg, this time in the location we now knew as 'Roskop' - a position on some ruins at the top of a hill in the middle of the range.

The morning was to be spent at Laupheim's Exercise ELITE 08 press event.
Laupheim is home to mittleres Transporthubschrauberregiment 25 (MTHRgt 25), "Oberschwaben" and their Sikorsky CH-53 helicopters.
Lechfeld, Germany - Ex ELITE 2008 Press Day 
Having arranged press access for Exercise ELITE 08 we were offered the chance to visit Lechfeld the day prior to the 'spotters' day instead. As it turned out we drew the short straw so far as weather went, but it did mean we could do Laupheim the next day.
Landsberg-Penzing, Germany - Ex ELITE 2008 Press Day 
The Exercise ELITE 08 press wagon rolled on to Landsberg-Penzing airbase on Tuesday, home of LTG-61 and their C-160D Transall transport aircraft and UH-1D Huey helicopters.
