RAF Waddington - 04/07/2005

Having missed the weekend show due to work, I was able to get back to Waddington for departures day.

The weather was grey, claggy and drizzly for much of it, and to make matters worse, runway 02 was in use, meaning the aircraft were departing towards us... A few fast jets did stay low enough for some quite nice angles, but it could've been so much better.

The Turkish F-4Es got airborne and came back for a flythrough. That still wouldn't be the last we'd see of them though as the Belgians refused them entry into their air space.

Not a bad day, but one that could've been better.
